چکیده

Changes in the terrestrial total water storage (TWS) have been estimated at both global and river basin scales from Gravity Recovery Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission are still being detected its GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO) mission. In this contribution, sixth release of GRACE-FO (RL06) level-2 products applying DDK5 (decorrelation filter) were used to detect mass variations for Nile River Basin (NRB) Africa Mega Aquifer System (MAS) Asia. The following approach was implemented variation over NRB MAS: (1) TWS (June 2018–June 2021) by converting spherical harmonic coefficients decorrelation filter DDK 5 Level-2 RL06 into equivalent heights, where had re-produced after removing mean temporal signal (2) Precipitation data Global Climatology Project investigate pattern change study area. Our findings include: during period, extracted RL06-DDK5 solutions three official centers—CSR, JPL, GFZ—were found be consistent with each other, showed substantial variations, given a average about 6 cm 2019 12 2020 between September November lower ?9 ?6 wet seasons March May, while MAS relatively weaker magnitude, (3) observed seasonal attributed high intensity precipitation events (AAP: 1000–1800 mm yr?1), whereas lack due low 180–500 yr?1).

Interannual variability in water storage over 2003 - 2007 in the Amazon Basin 2 from GRACE space gravimetry , in situ river level 3 and precipitation data

27 We investigate the interannual variability over 2003-2007 of different hydrological parameters in 28 the Amazon river basin: vertically-integrated water storage from the GRACE space gravimetry 29 mission, surface water level over the Amazon River and its tributaries from in situ gauges, and 30 precipitation. We analyze the spatio-temporal evolution of total water storage from GRACE and 31 in...

Comparison of seasonal terrestrial water storage variations from GRACE with groundwater-level measurements from the High Plains Aquifer (USA)

[1] This study presents the first comparison of seasonal groundwater storage (GWS) variations derived fromGRACE satellite data with groundwater-level measurements in the High Plains Aquifer, USA (450,000 km). Correlation between seasonal GRACE terrestrial water storage (TWS) and the sum of GWS estimated from field measurements (2,700 wells) and soil moisture (SM) simulated by a land surface mod...

Assessing Terrestrial Water Storage and Flood Potential Using GRACE Data in the Yangtze River Basin, China

Floods have caused tremendous economic, societal and ecological losses in the Yangtze River Basin (YRB) of China. To reduce the impact of these disasters, it is important to understand the variables affecting the hydrological state of the basin. In this study, we used Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data, flood potential index (FPI), precipitation data (Tropical Rainfa...

Characteristic mega-basin water storage behavior using GRACE

[1] A long-standing challenge for hydrologists has been a lack of observational data on global-scale basin hydrological behavior. With observations from NASA's Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) mission, hydrologists are now able to study terrestrial water storage for large river basins (>200,000 km2), with monthly time resolution. Here we provide results of a time series model of ...
